Animation

I have experience creating animations by combining assets using various software. I create simple graphics and overlays with Illustrator and Photoshop for photos and backgrounds. I use Audition for audio and PremierePro for combining assets and animation. To create animations, I use a variety of animation software. I started on Hype4 Pro, an affordable HTML 5 editor.

Object-Oriented Programming

With OOP, I use Javascript and CSS to animate HTML and make it interactive.

Web

This was an early animated game that I created while getting my Master’s degree. However, there were some visual changes that I wanted to improve on. My goal was to have the cat face the direction it was moving and keep the mice from crossing over each other.

Motion Sensitive Version

In an advanced programming course, I created a motion-sensitive version for a phone or tablet with a gyroscope.

If you scan the QR code, it will take you to this version. I was able to fix the cat orientation, and the mice didn’t overlap. However, they cross over the cat. Move the phone so that the cat eats the mice. When all of the mice are gone, shake the phone to start over.

Animated Captions

I created this video by using my cell phone to record a day in Winston’s Life. I added captions to express Winston’s thoughts. I used a repetitive track because it matched Winston’s trudging walk and his low-energy life.

Winston is a Service/Therapy Dog. He is very quiet and laid back.

Flip Book Animation

This animation was created in Adobe Illustrator with irregular vector brushes to make it look hand-drawn. I blended between keyframes for the various elements and then expanded the blend to layers. I made minor adjustments to combine the different elements in each layer and exported the Illustrator file as a Photoshop file with layers. I used these layers to create the frames for the animation. I adjusted the time to slow down as the animation ended.
